Kulgam, August 2 (H.S.) — A terrorist has been gunned down by security forces in an ongoing encounter in the Akhal forest area of Kulgam district in South Kashmir.
According to a senior army official, intermittent and intense firing continued throughout the night. In a retaliatory operation, the troops succeeded in eliminating one terrorist.
In a post on social media platform X, the Army’s Chinar Corps confirmed on Saturday morning that vigilant soldiers responded with controlled and strategic fire during the night-long exchange. The forces maintained contact and intensified the cordon around the area. The post also confirmed that one terrorist has been killed so far. The operation is still underway.
