O.P. Rajbhar Criticizes Akhilesh Yadavs Meeting with Azam Khan as Election Stunt
O.P. Rajbhar accuses Akhilesh Yadav of misleading Muslims with his meeting with Azam Khan ahead of elections in Uttar Pradesh.

Lucknow, October 22 (Daily Kiran) : O.P. Rajbhar, a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, has sharply criticized the recent meeting between Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav and senior party leader Azam Khan. Rajbhar described the encounter as an “election gimmick” aimed at misleading the Muslim community.
Rajbhar pointed out that while Yadav is now visiting Khan, who has been imprisoned for some time, he did not make the effort to meet him earlier. “Now that elections are approaching, Yadav wants to convey to Muslims that he is a close friend of Azam Khan,” he said.
He further claimed that Yadav was responsible for Khan’s imprisonment, suggesting that the SP leader is conveniently forgetting this fact. According to Rajbhar, the circumstances that led to Khan’s jail time stemmed from the actions of the SP government, which Yadav led.
As part of his visit, Akhilesh Yadav is scheduled to meet Azam Khan at the district jail in Rampur. To welcome Yadav, posters have been put up throughout the town.
On the topic of reservations, Rajbhar emphasized the need for unity to secure these rights for the community. He also mentioned that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to visit Lucknow on October 30 for a two-day trip, during which he will review preparations for the upcoming assembly elections.
Rajbhar noted that Shah’s visit will include a meeting with key party members, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other senior officials.
Addressing allegations from Yadav regarding irregularities in the MLC elections, Rajbhar dismissed them as unfounded, stating that such issues were typical during Yadav’s tenure.
In response to recent accusations made by Yadav regarding the Shiva Sharma murder case, Rajbhar remarked on the inconsistency of Yadav’s claims, suggesting that those who are only now expressing concern about faith were previously indifferent.
Yadav had previously urged people to maintain their faith, asserting that the ruling party often manipulates religious sentiments for political gain.
