No Mercy for Atra Singh Bhadhana Murderers, Says Home Minister Jawahar Singh

Home Minister Jawahar Singh vows strict action against those responsible for the murder of former BJP MLA Atra Singh Bhadhana in Rajasthan.

Jaipur, October 15 (Daily Kiran) : Home Minister Jawahar Singh has assured that there will be no leniency for those involved in the murder of Atra Singh Bhadhana, a former BJP MLA from Bharatpur. Singh stated that Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma is taking the incident seriously and has promised strict action against the culprits.

Describing the event as tragic, Singh noted that there had been ongoing disputes between the villagers and the accused. Despite several mediation attempts through local panchayats, these efforts failed to resolve the conflict.

In response to opposition demands for a CBI investigation, Singh acknowledged the right of the opposition to express their views but emphasized that the government’s priority is to ensure justice.

According to officials, the murder stemmed from a long-standing dispute related to a stone-crushing plant owned by Bhadhana’s wife Kamlesh, which involves access roads and mining activities in Bhonda village of Bharatpur district. Tensions escalated recently due to the resumption of operations at the plant.

The incident occurred on October 11, when Bhadhana arrived at the plant between 6:30 and 7:30 PM. Reports indicate that a large crowd gathered, attacking him with sticks, stones, and iron rods. His personal security guard, Gagan Sharma, was also severely injured while attempting to intervene.

Initially taken to a local hospital in Veer, Bhadhana was later transferred to SMS Hospital in Jaipur, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police have filed cases against around 80 individuals in connection with the incident and have arrested five suspects identified as Bhagmala Gurjar, Soni Gurjar, Sher Singh Gurjar, Baldev Gurjar, and Kumar Singh Gurjar. They are currently in police custody for questioning, while the search for other suspects continues.

The case gained attention following an alleged altercation between Singh and Bhadhana at the PWD guest house on September 27, a day before the Chief Minister’s visit to Bayana. Reports suggest that Bhadhana expressed frustration over not receiving responses to his phone calls and being uninformed about the Chief Minister’s program.
