Bihar Chief Minister Launches Rabi Mahaabhiyan to Boost Farmers Income Through Scientific Farming

Bihars CM Samrat Chaudhary initiates Rabi Mahaabhiyan to promote modern farming techniques and increase farmers income.

Patna, October 15 (Daily Kiran) : Bihar’s Chief Minister, Samrat Chaudhary, inaugurated the ‘Rabi Mahaabhiyan-2026’ on Thursday, emphasizing the importance of modern agricultural techniques. He stated that raising awareness among farmers about scientific farming is crucial for enhancing agricultural productivity, reducing costs, and ultimately increasing their income.

During the event held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Chaudhary flagged off 40 vehicles, including 38 farmer awareness vans and two knowledge vehicles. These vehicles will travel across various regions of the state to disseminate information about government agricultural schemes, advanced farming techniques, and essential agricultural knowledge.

The primary goal of this initiative is to educate farmers about scientific practices for Rabi crops, ensure eligible farmers benefit from government schemes, and encourage the adoption of modern agricultural technologies.

Farmers will receive guidance on improved cultivation methods for wheat, maize, pulses, and oilseeds, as well as the use of quality agricultural inputs and effective management practices. The program will also provide direct benefit transfers (DBT) to qualified farmers as part of various agricultural department schemes, along with information about crop demonstration programs.

The initiative will focus on distributing subsidized agricultural inputs at the block level and providing farmers with modern agricultural equipment. Advanced sowing techniques, such as zero tillage and seed drill machines, will be promoted to enhance productivity in wheat cultivation. These methods aim to lower farming costs and optimize the use of available resources.

Additionally, the campaign will feature farmer fairs, educational workshops, training programs, agricultural tours, field days, and farmer meetings. Through the ‘Agricultural Welfare Camp and Save the Farm Campaign-2026,’ discussions will be held to address farmers’ issues and inform them about available schemes and facilities.

The initiative will also promote balanced fertilizer management, soil health preservation, soil testing, organic farming, and the use of drone technology in agriculture. The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, and senior officials from the agriculture department.
