New Zealand All-Rounder Rachin Ravindra Injured, Doubt Cast on Participation in T20 Series Against India
Rachin Ravindras injury raises doubts about his availability for the upcoming T20 series against India, starting October 22.

New Delhi, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : New Zealand’s young all-rounder Rachin Ravindra has sustained an injury, casting uncertainty on his participation in the T20 series against India. The series is set to begin on October 22.
Ravindra suffered the injury while attempting a diving catch during a promotional shoot in Auckland. He dislocated his right shoulder, though doctors have ruled out any significant structural damage. His return to the field will depend on the early stages of his rehabilitation.
Mike Sandal, New Zealand’s performance manager, expressed concern over the incident, noting that Ravindra fell on a safety mat while attempting the catch. “It was indeed a bad injury. We are saddened for him. Our top priority is his full recovery so he can return to the field as soon as possible,” he said.
Sandal added that all parties had previously agreed to safety measures for commercial shoots involving players. He acknowledged the unusual nature of the incident and stated that they would continue to review their procedures for such events.
New Zealand’s head coach, Rob Walter, emphasized the need for caution given the team’s busy schedule ahead. “We don’t want to rush Rachin back too soon. He is in good hands regarding his rehabilitation, and we look forward to welcoming him back soon,” Walter noted.
The New Zealand team is expected to announce its squad for the T20 series against India early next week. As of now, it remains unclear whether Ravindra will recover in time to participate.
