New Petition Filed in Supreme Court Over Illegal Conversion Network in Nashik

New Delhi, April 16: A new petition has been filed in the Supreme Court regarding a significant revelation of an illegal conversion network in Nashik, Maharashtra.

The petitioner, lawyer Ashwini Upadhyay, has submitted an additional application in an already pending case. He referenced the Nashik incident, stating that the exposure is a shocking revelation for the conscience of the entire nation.

The petition asserts that conversions conducted through deception, inducement, or trickery pose a serious threat to the country’s sovereignty, secularism, democracy, and constitutional freedoms. The petitioner has urged the Supreme Court to classify such forced or deceptive conversions as indirect warfare and terrorism against the nation.

Ashwini Upadhyay has called on the central and all state governments to take immediate and stringent legal and administrative measures to curb forced conversions. The petition also demands the establishment of special courts across the country to ensure swift and effective justice in all conversion cases.

The petitioner emphasized that the illegal conversion network uncovered in Nashik has once again demonstrated that organized conversion activities are ongoing in the country. These activities are targeting poor, uneducated, and tribal communities.

He stressed that if strict measures are not implemented promptly, the problem will escalate, posing a threat to social harmony and national unity.

Ashwini Upadhyay has appealed to the Supreme Court to take this issue seriously and issue appropriate directives to the central and state governments to prevent exploitation and fraud under the guise of religious freedom.
