Indian Air Force Launches Indigenous Navigation Simulator NAVSIM

Hyderabad, April 16: The Indian Air Force’s Training Command Chief, Air Marshal S. Srinivasan, inaugurated the indigenous NAVSIM simulator at the Navigation Training School (NTS) located at Air Force Station Begumpet on Thursday.

This simulator has been entirely developed in India and features advanced graphics that enhance the realism of training. NAVSIM specifically supports operations conducted at night and various emergency scenarios. It includes multiple complex emergency situations, making training more effective.

The introduction of this new simulator significantly strengthens the training of the Air Force’s navigators and weapon system operators. Trainees can now practice various challenging situations before actual flights, enhancing their preparedness.

During the inauguration, Air Marshal S. Srinivasan stated that this indigenous simulator is a crucial step towards meeting the growing operational needs of the Indian Air Force. It reiterates the Training Command’s commitment to prioritizing indigenous capability development. Utilizing domestic equipment not only reduces costs but also supports the goal of an Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India).

The Navigation Training School in Begumpet is a key training center for the Indian Air Force, providing high-level training to navigators and weapon system operators. The arrival of NAVSIM has further enhanced the training capacity of this institution.

This development is part of the Indian Air Force’s ongoing efforts towards modernization and indigenization. The Air Force is rapidly incorporating indigenous tools that not only improve training but also prepare for future modern warfare scenarios.
