Greater Noida, June 23: Residents and commuters traveling between Greater Noida, Greno West, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Delhi have received significant relief. The long-awaited Tilpatta Railway Overbridge (ROB) was opened for vehicle traffic on Tuesday.
This ROB is strategically located between the Tilpatta Roundabout and the Makoda Roundabout, near Paramount Golf Foreste, improving traffic flow on the 130-meter road. The four-lane overbridge, measuring approximately 1,600 meters in length, was constructed by the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL).
Beneath the overbridge runs the dedicated freight corridor railway line. The Greater Noida Authority has been diligently working to expedite the completion of this project.
CEO N.G. Ravi Kumar has closely monitored the project to ensure timely completion and has applied necessary pressure on DFCCIL. Previously, heavy traffic on the 130-meter road often led to congestion in the underpass area, particularly during peak hours.
The situation worsened during the monsoon season, causing commuters to be stuck in traffic for hours. The opening of the new railway overbridge is expected to alleviate these issues significantly. With the ROB now operational, connectivity between Greater Noida and Greno West has improved, providing faster and smoother travel for passengers heading to Noida, Delhi, Ghaziabad, and the upcoming Noida International Airport.
It is anticipated that this development will greatly enhance traffic management in the region and reduce travel time. To further improve traffic flow, the Greater Noida Authority has approved the construction of new U-turns on both sides of the 130-meter road at the Tilpatta Roundabout.
Under the direction of CEO N.G. Ravi Kumar, the tender for this project has been issued. Work Circle-7 has been assigned the construction responsibilities. The tender process is expected to be completed within a month, with construction anticipated to begin shortly thereafter, taking approximately three to four months to complete.
The authority believes that the new U-turns will significantly reduce traffic pressure at the Tilpatta intersection, allowing for smoother vehicle movement on the 130-meter road. ACEO Sumit Yadav has instructed the relevant officials to complete the project within the designated timeline. The widening of the 130-meter road is also progressing rapidly, aiming to eliminate traffic congestion in the future.
