New India-US Trade Deal Opens Opportunities for Youth and Farmers

New Delhi, February 3: BJP leaders have hailed the India-US trade agreement as historic. They believe that reducing tariffs on Indian goods to 18% will strengthen strategic and economic ties between the two nations.

In a conversation with a news agency, BJP leader Tarun Chugh stated, “This historic trade deal will give Indian products a significant advantage in the global market. With an 18% tariff, new opportunities will arise for youth, farmers, and MSMEs. A robust India-US partnership will boost investment, innovation, and job creation. This is a major achievement under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.”

BJP MP Sambit Patra described the deal as a very positive step. He noted that it follows the EU-India FTA and the UK deal, and in light of the global challenges we face, this trade agreement will help mitigate those issues. He added that lower tariffs will assist the country and its exports in finding markets in the US.

Patra emphasized that there are potential areas for joint collaboration not only in trade and commerce but also in science, technology, and innovation. With the AI Global Impact Summit taking place in Delhi this month, he sees this as an opportunity for American technology and Indian products to collaborate. “I view this as a very positive step,” he remarked.

BJP MP Balbhadra Majhi stated, “Under PM Modi’s leadership, the focus is on the country and its people. He speaks and works for the nation’s welfare. Trump, being a businessman, naturally prioritizes his country’s economy and tries to exert pressure for his advantage, but PM Modi never bows to pressure.”

Targeting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Majhi commented, “Now, even the people of Bengal are not taking her seriously. She was once considered a strong leader, recognized as a fearless fighter who overcame struggles. However, in recent years, since becoming Chief Minister, her decisions appear weakened. It seems she is unable to prioritize between power and the nation.”
