New Dawn for West Bengal as Suvendu Adhikari Takes Office

New Delhi, May 9: A new chapter has begun in West Bengal with the appointment of Suvendu Adhikari as Chief Minister. Leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) expressed optimism on Saturday, declaring a new dawn for the hopes, aspirations, and development of the common people in the state. They also criticized the Trinamool Congress and its leader, Mamata Banerjee.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh, speaking to reporters in Begusarai, stated, “It is true that Bengal has been a cultural center of eternal traditions. Here, outsiders have governed, and particularly, the Trinamool Congress has become increasingly extremist. They targeted Hindus, promoted lawlessness, and spread chaos, often relying on the support of Bangladeshi Muslims for political gain. When this reached its peak, the people chose and trusted the BJP.”

He added that for the past few days, leaders of the Trinamool Congress have engaged in theatrics, while goons have created a climate of disorder. “All those involved in this lawlessness will face justice,” he asserted.

Minister Sanjay Kumar Singh extended heartfelt congratulations to Suvendu Adhikari, stating, “His arrival will lead to the formation of a strong and empowered government in West Bengal. With a robust government, development initiatives will follow.”

In a conversation from Ranchi, BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Dev remarked, “Today marks a new dawn for West Bengal. It symbolizes hope, aspiration, development, and a government for the common people. With Friday’s sunset, the unjust rule of Congress-Left and the tyranny of the TMC has also ended. The mandate received by the BJP is closely tied to the aspirations of the general public.”

Pratul Shah Dev emphasized that Suvendu Adhikari is a grounded individual who stands by the people in their joys and sorrows. “Today, a government for the common people has been established in the state,” he concluded.

Following the BJP’s victory in the West Bengal Assembly elections, Suvendu Adhikari was elected as Chief Minister. His name was officially announced on Friday, and he took the oath of office on Saturday in a ceremony held in Kolkata, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
