Tel Aviv, July 15: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to visit the United States for the first time since the conflict with Iran escalated. However, details regarding a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump remain unclear, according to a senior Israeli official.
The official informed Reuters that Netanyahu plans to travel to the U.S. on Saturday. While he wishes to meet with the American president, it is currently uncertain whether such a meeting will take place.
According to The Times of Israel, Netanyahu will participate in memorial events for the late Senator Lindsey Graham, a prominent supporter of Israel who passed away on Saturday. The official date for Graham’s funeral has yet to be announced.
A U.S. official stated on Tuesday that no schedule has been set for a meeting between Netanyahu and Trump.
If Netanyahu’s visit goes ahead, it will mark his first trip to the U.S. since the onset of hostilities against Iran. His last visit occurred in mid-February, just weeks before the U.S. and Israel began military actions against Iran.
In February 2026, Netanyahu met with Trump, who indicated he was still exploring the possibility of an agreement to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. This statement followed a three-hour meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister, during which Netanyahu was believed to have requested more stringent military actions against Iran.
Netanyahu’s sixth visit to the White House since Trump returned to power concluded without any public statements. The results of this impromptu meeting were shared by Trump via an online post.
Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social, “Nothing is definitively decided, but I emphasized that discussions with Iran should continue to see if an agreement can be reached.”
He added, “If that becomes possible, I told the Prime Minister that it would be my priority. If not, we will have to see what the outcome is.”
