Maulana Mushtaq Defends Islam Amid Mosque Demolitions in Hyderabad
Maulana Mushtaq Malik criticizes the BJP and RSS for mosque demolitions, asserting that Islam cannot be eradicated through such actions.

Hyderabad, October 28 (Daily Kiran) : Maulana Mushtaq Malik, president of the Tehreek Muslim Shabban organization in Hyderabad, has made strong remarks regarding the demolition of mosques and madrasas, targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He emphasized that such actions will not eliminate Islam or its followers. Malik also expressed concerns about the state of democracy, the justice system, and India’s global image.
In an interview, Malik stated, “Since the BJP and RSS came to power in 2014, they have been demolishing mosques, madrasas, and cemeteries, believing that this will lead to the end of Islam or Muslims. Those who think this way are ignorant of both world history and their own.”
He further criticized the renaming of Muslim-majority areas and the destruction of religious sites, asserting that the belief that Muslims can be intimidated or eradicated from India is a misconception.
Malik claimed that over 2,000 mosques and madrasas have already been destroyed. He quoted the Quran, stating, “Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam,” asserting that no one, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, or RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, can extinguish a faith that Allah has favored. He affirmed that Islam will endure, and Muslims will continue to live with dignity in India.
He stressed that India is governed by a constitution and laws, rooted in democracy. “If democracy is harmed, those who are undermining it will face consequences in their political lives and systems,” he warned. Malik insisted that Muslims cannot be intimidated or threatened, and he criticized the current situation as detrimental to the country’s interests.
He concluded by stating that the country cannot progress under such conditions and urged those in power to act wisely. “Demolishing mosques will not intimidate Islam or its followers,” he asserted.
