New Delhi, August 15: Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, the Chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), urged his team on Saturday to prepare for the upcoming BRICS Summit with the same commitment, professionalism, and readiness.
While hoisting the national flag at the NDMC headquarters on the 80th Independence Day, Dwivedi emphasized that every responsibility assigned to the municipal corporation for this prestigious international event must be completed within the stipulated timeframe and adhere to the highest standards of quality and excellence.
Present at the event were Vice Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal, council members Anil Valmiki and DP Singh, Secretary Rahul Singh, senior officials, school students, and teachers.
He paid tribute to the freedom fighters and the armed forces, acknowledging their sacrifices for the nation and their roles in the freedom movement and national security.
After the flag hoisting ceremony, the NDMC Chairman called on Team NDMC to gear up for the upcoming BRICS Summit. He stressed that the civic agency must meet global standards and should not compromise on infrastructure, civic services, cleanliness, aesthetics, or overall preparations.
“I not only hope but firmly believe that through our collective efforts, dedication, and teamwork, the NDMC team will once again rise to every challenge and successfully fulfill every responsibility entrusted to us,” he stated.
Reflecting on last year’s achievements, the Chairman noted that the projects completed by NDMC in previous years have showcased the council’s institutional capabilities and implementation power. He mentioned that NDMC’s initiatives have also improved public infrastructure and helped meet citizens’ expectations.
He urged all officials and staff to maintain this spirit of excellence and ensure that all ongoing projects are completed within the set deadlines without compromising on quality, efficiency, or global standards.
Before the flag hoisting, NDMC’s security and fire personnel presented a guard of honor to the Chairman.
On Independence Day, the NDMC illuminated its headquarters, Convention Centre, NDCC Building, Connaught Place, Charkha Museum, Palika Bazaar, and other prominent buildings with approximately 18,000 tricolor bulbs.
