New Delhi, March 24: The political discourse surrounding the Women’s Reservation Bill has intensified. NDA MPs have labeled this initiative as a historic move for the nation. They emphasized that the BJP government consistently works in the country’s best interest.
BJP MP Ravi Kishan described the bill as a significant step in India’s democratic history. He stated, “Providing 33 percent reservation for women in the largest assembly of the country is historic.” He lauded Prime Minister Modi for this achievement, calling it a milestone in women’s empowerment and urged everyone to support this decision. The foundation for this initiative was laid back in 2014 when the government launched campaigns for women’s dignity and safety, such as the construction of toilets.
He noted that the opposition had questioned these initiatives at that time, but today the country has reached the landmark of 33 percent women’s reservation, which is a remarkable accomplishment.
JDU MP Lovely Anand also welcomed the bill, stating that her party has always supported women’s reservation. Reflecting on the past, she recalled advocating for women’s reservation by distributing pamphlets, and now it seems that dream is coming to fruition.
TDP MP Krishna Prasad Teneti regarded this decision as a positive step, mentioning that discussions on this issue have been ongoing for years, but its implementation has only just occurred. He praised Prime Minister Modi’s vision for making this happen.
On the other hand, BJP MP Hemang Joshi targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha, claiming that the party’s support base is steadily declining. He accused Gandhi of attracting only a limited audience to his events, highlighting the party’s diminishing popularity.
Meanwhile, political tensions have also escalated in Himachal Pradesh over rising petrol and diesel prices. BJP MP Suresh Kashyap criticized the state government, asserting that the central government has refrained from increasing fuel prices despite global circumstances, while the state government is burdening the public due to economic mismanagement.
