Bihars Nitish Kumar Re-elected as JD(U) President, Strengthening NDA Alliance

Patna, March 24: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been re-elected unopposed as the national president of the Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)]. This announcement was met with congratulations from Sanjay Sarawagi, the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

In a conversation in Patna, Sarawagi expressed confidence that under CM Nitish Kumar’s leadership, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will become even stronger, and JD(U) will also gain strength.

Sarawagi highlighted that Bihar has progressed under Kumar’s leadership and will continue to do so. He remarked that Kumar has liberated the state from “jungle raj” and established good governance. Improvements in education, law enforcement, infrastructure, healthcare, and electricity supply have been made. He emphasized that people no longer fear venturing out, as everyone feels secure under Kumar’s government.

Sarawagi took a jab at RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, stating that he cannot handle defeat in elections, whether for the assembly or the Rajya Sabha, which is why he often goes missing. He noted that Yadav was aware of his impending defeat in the Rajya Sabha elections, as he had already secured his ticket in advance. After losing in the assembly elections, Yadav fled abroad and was absent when the assembly session commenced.

Minister Dilip Jaiswal also congratulated CM Nitish Kumar, calling him the founder and guardian of JD(U). He stated that the people of Bihar trust Kumar’s leadership.

Regarding Tejashwi Yadav’s absence, Jaiswal quipped that if he is indeed missing, they could file a report at the police station.

With Kumar’s re-election as president, it is now clear that he will engage in Delhi’s political arena as a Rajya Sabha member while retaining control of the party. Recently, Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar has also entered politics, and there are discussions about him potentially taking on significant responsibilities in the new government of Bihar.
