New Delhi, April 17: As women across the nation openly praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Women’s Reservation Bill, the opposition created significant uproar during the first day of a three-day special session in Parliament. In response to the opposition’s protests, NDA leaders stated that the public places its trust not in the opposition’s allegations but in Prime Minister Modi’s clear address in the House.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh remarked that the opposition raised numerous questions to create confusion. He noted that the Prime Minister clarified the issue, followed by the Home Minister providing detailed explanations. Despite this, if the opposition continues to raise doubts and objections, the public remains confident in the Prime Minister’s words.
Central Minister of State SP Singh Baghel criticized Akhilesh Yadav’s statement that women have merely been reduced to a slogan, calling it misleading. He emphasized that for centuries, women have been marginalized economically, socially, and politically, deprived of their rights. The Prime Minister is addressing this long-standing issue. Women have suffered due to fear and oppression from the era of slavery through the Delhi Sultanate, Lodhi, Tughlaq, and Mughal periods.
Regarding PM Modi’s speech in the Lok Sabha, LJP (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Chaudhary supported the Prime Minister’s views. She pointed out that the opposition’s lack of integrity has led to the bill being stalled for so many years. Empowering women and establishing their leadership in this country is a collective responsibility. When governments are formed and MPs are elected, women’s votes are also counted, highlighting their importance.
BJP leader Khushboo Sundar expressed her pride as a woman, thanking PM Modi for this momentous occasion. She noted that women have long fought for 33% reservation, and today, that dream has finally come true. This has been a long-awaited aspiration for many.
