Yadav, who has been appointed as Governor, arrived in Kohima on Thursday. Upon his arrival, he was welcomed by Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, his cabinet colleagues, Chief Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen, and other officials.

President Droupadi Murmu announced the appointments and transfers of governors and lieutenant governors across several states and union territories on March 5. In this context, former Bihar minister and Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav has been appointed as the Governor of Nagaland.

He wished Yadav a successful and meaningful tenure.

Nand Kishore Yadav will succeed Ajay Kumar Bhalla, who has been holding additional charge of Nagaland along with Manipur since August 25 of last year. The President appointed Bhalla as the additional charge of Nagaland on August 16, following the death of the previous Governor, La.
