Mumbai, February 18: A joint team from Central Railway and Western Railway has arrested an individual for putting up fake Baba posters in Mumbai’s Re Road area.
The operation was conducted under the directives of senior DSC/BB and based on information received from informants. The raid involved personnel from SIPF/G.K. Rai IT Cell, ASI P.K. Mishra of Central Railway, SIPF/S. K. Soni, and the Western Railway team.
The team raided the area near Meera Ali Dargah, Darukhana, Re Road, where they found MD Razul, son of MD Nazir Andari, with posters valued at approximately fifteen thousand rupees. These posters were intended for advertising and promoting business within the railway premises. During questioning, Razul admitted to using the railway area without any permission.
Following this, a case was registered at Wadala police station. The investigation revealed that more suspects were involved, who assisted in printing and pasting the posters inside railway coaches. The inquiry into the transactions with the printing agency and the poster placement is ongoing.
Railway officials stated that this action is crucial not only for ensuring compliance with regulations but also for maintaining safety within railway premises and for passengers. Conducting business without permission and posting advertisements can pose risks to safety and discipline.
During the raid, the team employed technical and covert methods. They gathered information from informants, monitored suspicious activities, and inspected railway premises to reach the accused. Besides MD Razul, other suspects have been identified, and their activities are under investigation.
This arrest sends a clear message that violations of rules within railway premises will not be tolerated. Officials confirmed that legal action will be taken against all involved parties, and measures to enhance security in railway areas will be implemented.
Thus, the joint action by railway administration and police has effectively resolved the issue of fake Baba posters, ensuring compliance with regulations and the safety of passengers.
