Mumbai, May 2: Renowned actor Mukesh Rishi, celebrated for his powerful voice and strong persona, remains a popular figure in the Hindi film industry. His portrayal of the villain ‘Bulla’ in the film ‘Gunda’ continues to spark discussions on social media, thanks to its memorable dialogues and memes.
Recently, Mukesh Rishi engaged in a conversation where he reflected on director Kanti Shah and the cinematic experiences of that era. He noted that although Kanti Shah has been away from the big screen since 2015, there was a time when he held a significant presence in the industry.
Rishi praised Kanti Shah’s unique filmmaking style, stating, “Cinema at that time was divided into two segments: those who watched from the balcony and those in the lower-class (front stall) seats. Kanti Shah knew exactly what films to create for that specific audience. He carved out a distinct niche for himself.”
The actor revealed that he spoke with Kanti Shah a few months ago. “Kanti Shah is considering doing something new with ‘Gunda’. I told him that the film is available online, and he can use whatever he wants from it,” Mukesh shared.
When asked if he still keeps in touch with Kanti Shah and what he is currently working on, Rishi admitted, “I don’t know what he is doing these days or which projects he is involved with. It would be incorrect to say that I meet him often.”
Expressing joy over the enduring popularity of his character ‘Bulla’, Mukesh Rishi mentioned that it is heartening to see that today’s children and youth appreciate this role.
