Moringa Oil: A Natural Solution for Skin Issues Caused by Pollution and Sun Exposure

Mumbai, February 4: Changing lifestyles, pollution, sun exposure, stress, and poor diet are increasingly affecting our skin. Issues like wrinkles, age spots, blemishes, and dry skin are now common even among younger individuals. In this context, natural remedies are proving to be highly effective, with Moringa oil emerging as a top choice.

Moringa, known as “Shobhanjan” in Ayurveda, is rich in medicinal properties found in its leaves, fruits, bark, and especially its seeds. The oil extracted from dried Moringa seeds is considered highly nutritious. According to Ayurveda, this oil balances skin imperfections and works on both internal and external levels.

Studies published in the International Journal of Pharmaceutical Research and Applications reveal that Moringa oil is abundant in oleic acid, vitamins A, C, and E, flavonoids, and polyphenols. These components collectively nourish the skin. The oil possesses antioxidant, anti-aging, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties, promoting healthy skin from within.

Age spots and dark patches on the face are often caused by free radicals, sun exposure, and a lack of collagen. Moringa oil directly addresses this issue. Its antioxidants combat free radicals that damage skin cells, while vitamin C boosts collagen production, maintaining skin elasticity and reducing blemishes.

Gently massaging the oil into the skin helps lighten dark spots by penetrating deeply.

In Ayurveda, age spots are also linked to an imbalance of the Pitta dosha. Moringa oil has cooling properties that soothe skin heat and help restore balance to Pitta, preventing pigmentation. Massaging a few drops onto the face after bathing or before bedtime keeps the skin soft and supple for longer.

Beyond age spots, Moringa oil alleviates various other skin issues. Its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic qualities are beneficial for acne, irritation, and allergies. It helps retain the skin’s natural moisture, reducing dryness and tightness. The oil is also effective for chapped lips, dull skin, and sun damage.
