Mohit Suri Reveals Surprising Insight About Sayara Film Production

Mumbai, March 27: The excitement for ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is palpable among audiences. A similar buzz surrounded the film ‘Sayara,’ which received considerable acclaim. However, a unique aspect of the film went unnoticed by many viewers. Director Mohit Suri recently shared an intriguing revelation regarding this.

In a podcast with actress and filmmaker Pooja Bhatt, Mohit Suri explained that instead of creating different sets for the film’s songs, he opted to use a single set multiple times. Surprisingly, most viewers did not catch this detail even after watching the entire film.

He stated, “Many songs in the film were shot on the same set. Typically, separate sets are prepared for each song, but to save costs and time, I chose to utilize one set in various ways. I believe that excessive crowd and grandeur can sometimes dilute the true essence of a story. Therefore, I initially shot scenes with fewer people and included the crowd only when I was satisfied.”

He further elaborated, “The crowd shown in the film was called in for just one day to shoot the music scenes. Several song sequences were filmed on the same reused set. When there are too many people on set, the focus shifts from the emotions to the crowd. Hence, we first shot scenes with fewer individuals to ensure the characters’ feelings were effectively conveyed.”

Mohit Suri also recounted a memorable moment that astonished him. He shared, “During the shoot of the song ‘Sayara,’ the junior artists present on set began singing the song themselves. This made me realize that the song would resonate with people’s hearts. I then stopped the music so that the audience could sing along, capturing that moment on camera.”

The film ‘Sayara,’ featuring Ahaan Pandey and Anit Padda in lead roles, was released in 2025 and achieved significant success at the box office, becoming the third highest-grossing Hindi film of the year.
