Mumbai, March 27: The demand for stories that explore deep relationships, emotions, and light-hearted humor is on the rise on OTT platforms. In this context, a new web series titled ‘Maa Ka Sam’ is generating significant buzz, showcasing the unique bond between a mother and her son. Mona Singh stars in the lead role, and the trailer for the series has just been released.
The trailer opens with a 19-year-old boy named Agastya, portrayed by Mihir Ahuja. A math genius, Agastya views everything through the lens of formulas and logic. He believes, “Whether it’s math or love, both are the same equation.” With this mindset, he embarks on a unique mission, dubbed ‘Project Mom,’ to improve his single mother Vinita’s (Mona Singh) life by finding her a perfect partner.
As the trailer progresses, it shows Agastya meticulously planning and logically searching for potential matches for his mother. He evaluates different individuals like math problems, trying to understand their behaviors and personalities. However, as the story unfolds, it becomes clear that love cannot be confined to any formula. The narrative is filled with amusing and emotional moments, where Agastya’s meticulous plans begin to unravel, teaching him valuable life lessons.
Mona Singh expressed her excitement about playing Vinita, stating, “This role is very special to me as I have never portrayed a character like this before. Vinita is a woman who shares a friendship with her son, built on trust, love, and understanding. The story beautifully illustrates a mother’s trust in her son and the son’s desire to do something good for his mother.”
She further added, “My character lives her emotions openly. She tries to trust love again and understands her son’s unique perspective. This story strikes a wonderful balance between humor and emotion, giving audiences a sense of a genuine and connected narrative.”
Mihir Ahuja, discussing his character Agastya, noted, “On the outside, he appears wise and confident, but inside, he is an emotional son who loves his mother deeply and wants her to be happy. This is why he tries to bring joy into her life in his own way. The friendship and bond between the mother and son is the greatest strength of this story.”
The series will be available for streaming on Prime Video starting April 3.
