
Amsterdam, May 17: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has concluded his official visit to the Netherlands and is now en route to Sweden. He expressed gratitude for the unprecedented love and respect received during his stay.
Through a video clip shared on X, PM Modi highlighted that this visit has given new momentum to India-Dutch relations. Both nations have committed to elevating their partnership to a “strategic level” and have outlined an ambitious roadmap for cooperation in areas such as water resources, semiconductors, innovation, defense, sustainable development, and mobility.
PM Modi also thanked his Dutch counterpart, Prime Minister Mark Rutte, for the warm hospitality, particularly for the farewell at the airport. He expressed confidence that the friendship between India and the Netherlands will grow stronger in the coming years.
The video showcased key moments from the visit, including the enthusiasm of the Indian community, discussions on investments and agreements during a CEO meeting, and interactions with the Dutch royal family.
Several significant agreements were signed during the Prime Minister’s presence. A notable agreement between Tata Electronics and the Dutch company ASML was made in The Hague, aimed at enhancing collaboration in the semiconductor and chip technology sectors. ASML is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of chip-making machines, while Tata Electronics is increasing its investment in India’s semiconductor industry.
On Saturday, PM Modi met with King Alexander and Queen Maxima at the royal palace, Palace Huis ten Bosch, in The Hague. Discussions focused on strengthening India-Dutch relations, particularly in education, technology, semiconductors, digital technology, water management, and green energy.
In honor of PM Modi, the Dutch royal couple hosted a dinner. On Sunday, he visited the world-renowned Afsluitdijk Dam with PM Rutte, a marvel of engineering.
During discussions between Prime Minister Modi and PM Rutte, agreements were signed to enhance cooperation in defense, critical minerals, and other key sectors.
