New Delhi, August 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared an inspiring message on social media platform ‘X’ on Wednesday, marking International Youth Day. He emphasized that the youth of India are not just the future but also the greatest strength of the nation.
In his post, Modi praised the efforts of young people, stating, “Our young companions are not only the future of the country but also its greatest strength in the present. They have carved a unique identity worldwide through their sensitivity, service, and capabilities.”
Additionally, he shared a Sanskrit verse on ‘X’: “Chakshusha manasa vachā karmaṇā cha chaturvidham. Prasādayati yo lokaṁ taṁ loko’nuprasīdati.” The translation in Hindi conveys that “the person who wins the hearts of people through their vision, thoughts, speech, and actions deserves their trust, respect, and goodwill.”
Earlier on Tuesday, Modi had posted another Sanskrit verse, stating, “Aṣṭau guṇāḥ puruṣaṁ dīpayanti prajñā suśīlatvādamaḥ śrutaṁ cha. Parākramaścha bahubhāṣitā cha dānaṁ yathāśakti kṛtajñatā cha.” This translates to, “These eight qualities illuminate a person’s life. Wisdom clarifies their path, virtue purifies their conduct, and self-control keeps them disciplined. Knowledge grants them discernment, valor keeps them steadfast in difficult times, and eloquence earns them respect in society. Giving according to one’s ability and being grateful for favors complete their personality.”
On Monday, he shared another Sanskrit verse: “Bhadraṁ karṇebhiḥ śṛṇuyāma devā bhadraṁ paśyemākṣabhiryajatrāḥ. Sthirairaṅgais tuṣṭuvāṁs tanūbhir vyashema devahitaṁ yadāyuḥ.” The Hindi meaning is, “Let us listen to truthful, auspicious, and enlightening words, adopt beneficial thoughts, and dedicate our lives to the welfare of the people with a healthy body, good conduct, and excellent qualities, spreading truthful and authentic information to awaken, empower, and unify the nation and society.”
On August 7, Modi had also shared a verse stating, “Kiṁ chandramaḥ pratyupakāralipsayā karoti gobhih kumudāvabodhanam. Svabhāva evonnatacetasaṁ satāṁ paropakāravyasanaṁ hi jīvitam.” The Hindi translation reads, “The moon does not illuminate the lotus with the desire for reciprocation; it is simply its natural quality. Similarly, noble-hearted individuals selflessly help others without any selfish motive, as altruism is inherent to their nature.”
