Abu Dhabi, March 28: A fire broke out in the Khalifa Economic Zone (KEZAD) between Abu Dhabi and Dubai on Saturday morning. The blaze was ignited by debris from intercepted ballistic missiles, injuring six individuals. According to the Abu Dhabi Government Media Office, the debris fell in three locations, leading to the fires.
Initially, reports indicated that two fires had erupted in the Khalifa Economic Zone due to missile debris, with teams working to extinguish them. Authorities later confirmed a third fire. This incident occurred after the air defense system successfully intercepted the ballistic missiles.
Officials confirmed that five of the injured were Indian nationals, with a Pakistani citizen also sustaining injuries, bringing the total to six. All individuals suffered minor to moderate injuries.
The media office stated that authorities have brought the fires under control and are currently in the cooling process. Residents have been advised to rely solely on official sources for information and to avoid spreading rumors or unverified details.
The Emirates Media Office reported that the debris from the intercepted ballistic missiles caused the three fires, resulting in six injuries. It further noted that all fires have been extinguished, and cooling operations are underway. The Khalifa Economic Zone is part of Abu Dhabi’s AD Ports Group, Economic Cities, and Free Zones.
Meanwhile, military conflicts continue on the 29th day of hostilities, with Iran launching attacks on Gulf nations. Reports of attacks and interceptions have emerged from various countries, including drone strikes at Oman’s Salalah port, a ballistic missile intercepted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and incidents at Bahrain and Kuwait International Airports, where radar systems were either damaged or destroyed during attacks.
