New Delhi, September 21 (Daily Kiran) : New Delhi has once again been shaken by a distressing incident involving the abduction and assault of a minor girl in the Sadar Bazaar area. On September 21, police reported that they have arrested a 56-year-old man, identified as Maqsood, in connection with the crime.
Authorities received a PCR call on the night of September 16, alerting them to the sexual assault of a minor by a shopkeeper. A team from the Sadar Bazaar police station, along with officials from the women’s police station, quickly responded to the scene.
Investigations revealed that the victim had left her home around 11 PM to purchase stationery. While she was out, a man from a nearby shop lured her inside, where he bound her hands and feet before assaulting her.
The police acted promptly, filing an FIR under relevant sections of the law at the women’s police station in North Delhi. Maqsood was taken into judicial custody the same day.
Officials emphasized that the case has been handled with utmost sensitivity, highlighting the commitment of the women’s police station in North Delhi to swiftly address any complaints of crimes against women and children.
This incident follows another alarming case in Delhi, where a 17-year-old girl was brutally murdered. Her body was discovered on September 13 in a decomposed state near a farm in the Swaroop Nagar area. Investigations revealed that four individuals, including three minors, were involved in the crime. The victim was known to the suspects and had been traveling with them when they consumed alcohol, leading to her assault and subsequent murder.
