Visakhapatnam, September 23 (Daily Kiran) : India and Sri Lanka’s navies have successfully concluded a joint naval exercise named ‘SLINEX-26′ in the waters off Visakhapatnam. This operation tested the operational capabilities and coordination between the two nations’ naval forces. The exercise included a range of activities such as maritime warfare drills, aerial operations, night-time logistics support, and special forces missions.
Over the course of five days, both navies engaged in various coordinated maritime operations. They practiced everything from air missions to logistics supply at sea during nighttime. Special forces also participated in several critical activities. The exercise, which began on September 17, aimed to strengthen mutual understanding, operational coordination, and the ability to work together effectively.
The initial phase of the exercise took place in port, where professional discussions occurred between officers and personnel from both navies. Sailors toured each other’s warships, and sporting events were organized to enhance camaraderie and cooperation. Following this, the maritime phase commenced, featuring multiple joint naval drills.
During aerial operations, coordination between maritime and aerial resources was emphasized. The exercise also included logistics supply operations during night hours, testing the ability to conduct joint missions under challenging conditions. Special forces played a crucial role, practicing boarding, search and seizure operations, and rapid descents via helicopter.
These exercises provided an opportunity for both navies to better understand each other’s operational procedures and enhance their collaborative capabilities.
