Kolkata, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : Minister Agnimitra Paul of the West Bengal government inspected the preparations for Durga Puja on Saturday at Red Road in Kolkata. During her visit, she collaborated with artists to create colorful traditional Alpana designs, celebrating the region’s rich culture and festive spirit.
Speaking to reporters, Paul emphasized the significance of the Alpana designs being made at Park Circus, a site previously known for anti-government protests. “This is the same Park Circus where police were attacked and fires were set. Today, we are creating Alpana designs here, a tradition in Bengali culture. We make Alpana before any auspicious occasion. I am assisted by Irfan in this endeavor. This is the essence of Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari’s government,” she stated.
Paul encouraged people to visit Park Circus and Red Road, noting that the roads have been beautifully adorned. She added, “Today, Kolkata and many cities across Bengal have been decorated in this manner. The Chief Minister and the Governor are expected to arrive at 5 PM, with thousands of locals anticipated to join. A beautiful Bengali program will take place at Eden Gardens. We have created a pathway of five colors symbolizing love, affection, trust, and brotherhood. This reflects the faith that the people of Bengal have placed in our party and the trust that 1.4 billion Indians have in Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
She further remarked on the meticulous decorations under the Chief Minister’s guidance, promising that every street and alley will be illuminated. “We will ensure that cleanliness is maintained throughout Bengal. The people have trusted our party to govern, and they will witness the difference in how Durga Puja is celebrated under this administration compared to the previous one,” she concluded.
