New Delhi, March 9: Mehbooba Mufti, the president of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, visited the Iranian Cultural Center and Embassy in Delhi on Monday. During her visit, she expressed her condolences to the people of Iran and voiced her concerns regarding the current situation there.
Mufti stated that she came to show solidarity with the Iranian people during this challenging time. Speaking to the media, she emphasized her intention to convey to the citizens of Iran that the people of Kashmir stand with them in their struggles and sorrows.
She paid tribute to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, praying that his sacrifices be accepted and that he attain a high status in paradise. Mufti described the Iranian people as brave and resilient, stating that the people of Kashmir salute their courage.
Additionally, Mufti raised another critical issue during her visit. She expressed her concerns to the Iranian ambassador regarding the situation of Kashmiri students stranded in Iran. She noted that many Kashmiri students reside in Iran for their studies, and their families back home are quite anxious due to the current circumstances. Therefore, she urged that necessary measures be taken to ensure the safety of these students and facilitate their secure return if needed.
In her media interactions, she also commented on international politics. Supporting Iran, she stated, “We pray for their victory in this battle against evil, as Iran is fighting alone against the Epstein gang.” She pointed out that those mentioned in the Epstein files are currently aligned with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who she described as the mastermind behind the Epstein files.
