MCA Unveils Honors Board for Sports Journalists at Wankhede Stadium

Mumbai, March 4: The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) unveiled a special ‘Honors Board’ on Wednesday at the Balasaheb Thackeray Press Box inside Wankhede Stadium. This initiative aims to recognize the vital role of sports journalists in documenting, promoting, and preserving Mumbai’s rich cricket heritage over the decades.

The Honors Board serves as a tribute to media professionals who have consistently covered cricket, sharing its stories with the public.

The ceremony was attended by several members from the cricket and media communities. MCA President Ajinkya Naik, Secretary Prof. Dr. Unmesh Khanvilkar, Joint Secretary Nilesh Bhosale, and Apex Council members were present at the event.

Ajinkya Naik emphasized that Mumbai’s cricket legacy was not solely built on the field by players but also strengthened by journalists who have documented its journey with integrity and passion. He stated that the Honors Board is a small yet meaningful recognition of the dedication and contributions of these journalists.

Secretary Khanvilkar also praised the role of sports journalists, noting that their continuous coverage has preserved Mumbai’s rich cricket history and brought the sport closer to the people.

The Honors Board has been permanently installed in the Balasaheb Thackeray Press Box, ensuring that journalists who have chronicled Mumbai’s cricket journey are always honored.
