New Delhi, May 15: The recent ruling by the Madhya Pradesh High Court regarding Bhojshala has received mixed reactions. While BJP leaders welcomed the decision, Maulana Mahmood Arshad Madani expressed his disagreement with the court’s verdict.
In a conversation with the media, Maulana Madani stated that there is no concept of an alternative location. He emphasized that if a location is to be chosen, it must be the original site. He mentioned that they are prepared to approach the Supreme Court if necessary.
“This is not just about a mosque; it concerns the constitution of the country. It is a legal matter,” he asserted, referring to ongoing disputes related to other sites like Gyanvapi.
BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari remarked that the court’s decision was based on a report from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), which provided a comprehensive 2,100-page document. He stated that the court recognized Bhojshala as a temple complex, and the party respects this ruling.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also welcomed the High Court’s decision, asserting that it ensures the rights of devotees to worship at Bhojshala.
Chief Minister Yadav noted, “The High Court’s decision to recognize the historical Bhojshala as a protected monument and a place of worship for Maa Vagdeviji is a significant moment for our cultural heritage, faith, and history. The dignity of Bhojshala will be further strengthened under the management of the Archaeological Survey of India, ensuring the rights of devotees.”
He also mentioned that the directive to the central government regarding the return of Maa Vagdeviji’s idol from the UK is commendable, and the state government will make necessary efforts in this regard.
