Mumbai, 01 September (Kiran News): The hunger strike by Manoj Jarange Patil demanding Maratha reservation continues at Azad Maidan in Mumbai, with Jarange refusing to drink water on the fourth day of his protest. On Monday morning, a medical team from JJ Hospital examined his health and strongly advised him to increase his water intake.

Doctors from JJ Hospital found that Jarange’s sugar level had dropped to around 70. They warned that his health could deteriorate further if he stops drinking water. Despite repeated requests from doctors to reconsider his decision, Jarange remains firm, stating that he will not consume water. He has reiterated his resolve that he will either achieve reservation for the Maratha community or his last journey will begin from here.
Meanwhile, a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is underway to discuss Jarange’s demands. The meeting is being attended by both Deputy Chief Ministers and Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, chairman of the cabinet sub-committee formed for the reservation issue, along with Minister Girish Mahajan and others.
It is noteworthy that lakhs of Marathas from across the state have come to Mumbai in support of Jarange’s movement. Many faced difficulties over the past two days, but mothers and sisters from all over the state have sent rotis, rice, biscuits, water bottles, bananas, dal, and other essentials to ensure protesters do not go hungry. In view of the large crowd of Maratha community members, security has been increased around Mantralaya and the Vidhan Bhavan complex in Mumbai.
