Third Major Signing of the Summer

The Cameroon international becomes United’s third summer signing, following the arrivals of striker Matheus Cunha and defender Diego León. Meanwhile, reports suggest that United’s star winger Marcus Rashford could be heading to FC Barcelona on a season-long loan, although no official confirmation has been made.

This transfer concludes a high-profile saga that dominated the summer transfer window. United reportedly made their first approach for Mbeumo nearly six weeks ago, demonstrating their strong interest in the forward.

Mbeumo’s Excitement to Join United

Expressing his joy after completing the move, Mbeumo told the club’s official website:
“As soon as I learned about the opportunity to join Manchester United, I didn’t think twice. This is the club of my dreams – I grew up wearing its jersey.”

The 25-year-old forward is expected to join Manchester United’s pre-season tour in the United States, which kicks off this Thursday.

Stellar Record at Brentford

Mbeumo has been one of Brentford’s standout performers in recent years. He scored 70 goals and provided 51 assists in 242 appearances for the club. Last season alone, he netted 20 goals, narrowly missing out on helping Brentford secure a place in European competitions.

With this signing, United aims to bolster their attacking options as they prepare for the upcoming Premier League season and Champions League campaign.
