Man Arrested After Allegedly Abducting and Assaulting Four-Year-Old Girl in Badaun

Badaun, June 28: In a shocking incident in Badaun district, Uttar Pradesh, police have arrested a 60-year-old man for allegedly abducting and assaulting a four-year-old girl. The arrest followed a police encounter, during which the suspect sustained gunshot wounds to both legs. Authorities recovered a firearm and ammunition from his possession.

According to reports, the girl went missing on the night of June 25 around 8 PM in a village within the Alapur police jurisdiction. Following her disappearance, the police registered a case and launched a search operation. After the girl was found, a medical examination confirmed that she had been assaulted. Consequently, additional charges were added to the case.

SSP Ankita Sharma stated that the police received information regarding the girl’s abduction. During the search, she was located in a field and subsequently hospitalized. Investigations revealed that the girl had been assaulted after her abduction and was left in the field by the perpetrator, who fled the scene.

Further inquiries led to the identification of the suspect as Abrar, a relative of the victim, who resides in the same village. Upon receiving tips about his whereabouts, police attempted to apprehend him. However, he opened fire at the officers, prompting a retaliatory response that resulted in his injuries. He was arrested and is currently receiving treatment at the district hospital.
