Mumbai, May 21: Malayalam superstar Mohanlal turned 66 on Thursday, receiving heartfelt birthday wishes from actor Jackie Shroff. Jackie shared a stunning picture of Mohanlal in a gray suit, looking dapper, on his Instagram story.

In his caption, Jackie wrote, “Happy Birthday Mohan Garu.” The term “Garu” is a respectful Telugu address.

Mohanlal’s latest film, “Drishyam 3,” was released in theaters on his birthday. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, this film is the sequel to “Drishyam 2,” continuing the popular franchise.

In “Drishyam 3,” Mohanlal reprises his role alongside Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Murali Gopy, Siddique, and Asha Sharath, all of whom return from the previous films.

On May 14, the producers of “Drishyam 3” released a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video. Mohanlal shared this clip on his X timeline, stating, “#Drishyam3 – Behind the Scenes Worldwide Release May 21, 2026.”

The video featured clips of Mohanlal enjoying light moments with the film crew. It showcased the preparation of his costumes, while director Jeethu Joseph provided instructions on the desired shots. Producer Antony Perumbavoor was seen casually interacting with the crew members.

Jackie Shroff, 69, was last seen in “Tu Meri Main Tera,” alongside Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday. Mohanlal will also appear in the upcoming comedy film “Welcome to the Jungle,” directed by Ahmed Khan.

He made his acting debut in 1982 with “Swami Dada,” in an uncredited role. His breakthrough came with the film “Hero,” which catapulted him to stardom.
