
Mumbai, August 5: The makers of the much-anticipated Tamil comedy-drama film ‘Modha Rathiri,’ directed by renowned South Indian filmmaker Raja Karuppasamy, have released the first look and character names of actors Chetan and Baks.
On Wednesday, the production team introduced Chetan’s character on their social media platform X, stating, “Meet Chetan as ‘Poosari,’ the closest neighbor to God.”
They also unveiled Baks’ character, warning, “Caution: Danger ahead! Meet Baks as ‘Sarvanan Chitappa.’”
Set against a rural backdrop, ‘Modha Rathiri’ stars Rishikant and Anishma Anilkumar in lead roles. The film also features a talented ensemble cast, including Chetan, A. Venkatesh, Baks, Abdul Lee, Shaili Kishore, Sangeeta Balan, Banupriya, Sumitra Devi L., Varshini Karmegham, Karthikeyan, Velen, and Kaushik Kabilan.
Previously, the makers revealed that Anishma plays the character Muthuselvi, while Rishikant portrays Maruthanayagam. The storyline revolves around two strangers who are married off, leading to a night filled with quirky comedy, misunderstandings, and amusing twists.
A close source from the film unit shared that ‘Modha Rathiri’ will depict a typical village wedding, transforming into a unique rollercoaster of hilarious misunderstandings, unexpected twists, and heartwarming emotions.
Reports suggest that the entire film unfolds in a single night, packed with continuous surprises that ensure laughter throughout. This film marks Rishikant’s debut as a hero, while Anishma Anilkumar, praised for her performances in ‘Sirai’ and ‘Youth,’ plays the female lead.
‘Modha Rathiri’ is set to hit theaters on August 21.
