New Delhi, April 3: The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a fresh forecast indicating a significant change in weather across Delhi-NCR and several districts in Uttar Pradesh. Due to the activation of a western disturbance, thunderstorms, rain, lightning, and even hail are expected throughout the week.
According to the weather department, today’s maximum temperature is recorded at around 33 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 21 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels have fluctuated between 80 and 45 percent. Today’s forecast predicts “thunderstorm with rain,” but no formal warning has been issued yet.
The same weather pattern is expected to continue on April 4, with maximum temperatures around 31 degrees and minimums at 20 degrees. The department has specifically issued alerts for the afternoon and evening. Winds could reach speeds of 30 to 40 km/h, accompanied by lightning and rain. Similar conditions are anticipated in the evening, prompting advisories for the public to remain cautious.
On April 5, the pattern of thunderstorms and rain will persist, with temperatures expected to range from 31 degrees (maximum) to 18 degrees (minimum), while humidity will vary between 85 and 45 percent. A slight respite is expected on April 6, with the sky partially clouded and temperatures around 31 degrees/17 degrees. No warnings are anticipated for this day.
Weather conditions will shift again on April 7, with thunderstorms and rain likely, maintaining temperatures at 33 degrees/18 degrees. On April 8, temperatures are expected to stabilize around 31 degrees/17 degrees.
Meteorologists indicate that this weather change is due to the western disturbance affecting the plains of North India. This will impact not only Delhi-NCR but also several districts in western Uttar Pradesh. The weather department advises people to stay away from open areas during thunderstorms and lightning, avoid standing under trees, and refrain from unnecessary travel.
Farmers are also advised to take necessary precautions to protect their crops. The upcoming week is expected to bring fluctuating weather conditions in NCR, where the combination of heat, rain, and strong winds will provide both relief and caution to residents.
