Greater Noida, February 26: In a swift response to a shocking murder in Luxor village, Greater Noida police have arrested two main suspects within just 24 hours. The arrests occurred during a late-night encounter, where both accused sustained injuries from gunfire.
The police team from Ecotech-1 station was conducting a checking operation at the Imaliya Cut barrier on February 25. During this operation, they signaled a suspicious vehicle to stop. Instead of complying, the occupants opened fire on the police and attempted to flee.
Demonstrating quick reflexes, the police pursued the suspects and executed a counter-operation. Both assailants were shot in the legs during the encounter, leading to their injuries.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Sachin, son of Shishpal, a resident of Hasanpur village in Jahangirpur, Bulandshahr district, and Vipin, also known as Kalla, son of Suresh, a resident of Luxor, Ecotech-1, Gautam Buddh Nagar. Both are reported to be 23 years old.
According to police reports, these two suspects were wanted in connection with a public murder case registered at the Ecotech-1 police station. The police recovered a .32 bore pistol, two live cartridges, two spent cartridges, a .30 bore pistol, two live cartridges, two spent cartridges, and a Tata Punch car during the operation.
The injured suspects have been sent to the hospital for treatment. The police have also filed charges against them under the relevant sections of the Arms Act and for the police encounter. Authorities stated that other members of the gang involved in the Luxor murder case have already been apprehended, and efforts to locate additional suspects are ongoing. A comprehensive resolution to the case is expected soon.
