Major International Arms Smuggling Ring Busted by Delhi Police, 10 Arrested

New Delhi, March 25: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has uncovered a significant international arms smuggling ring operating in the Vaulted City area. This syndicate was trafficking weapons from Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh to supply criminal gangs in Delhi-NCR and other states.

Ten key smugglers have been arrested, along with the seizure of 21 high-end foreign weapons. Additionally, approximately 200 cartridges were confiscated by the police.

Authorities reported that the recovered firearms included sophisticated submachine guns and semi-automatic pistols. Notable weapons such as the PX-5.7 and PX-3, which are used by special forces and internationally, were among the haul. Other renowned brands like Stoeger (Turkey), Shadow CZ (Czech Republic), Beretta (Italy), Taurus (Brazil), and Walther (Germany) were also seized. The PX-5.7 pistol is particularly concerning as it is exclusively utilized by special forces, raising alarms about its presence among criminals.

Senior officials from Delhi Police stated that this smuggling network was highly organized and international in scope. Weapons were being brought into India via the India-Nepal border from Pakistan and subsequently handed over to local gangs. These firearms were intended for use in criminal activities across Delhi-NCR.

During interrogation, the arrested smugglers revealed that they had been operating under this network for an extended period and had a comprehensive logistics plan for the buying and selling of weapons. Police believe that this operation has dealt a significant blow to arms trafficking in the capital and surrounding areas.

The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has described this as a successful international operation and has pledged to continue targeting such gangs. An analysis of the seized weapons and ammunition is underway to determine their involvement in various incidents.
