Tehran, April 6: Major General Khademi, head of the intelligence wing of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has died. Iranian state media confirmed his death in an official statement.
Iran has blamed the United States and Israel for the attack, labeling it a conspiracy to destabilize the nation. The IRGC’s public relations department made this announcement on Monday.
According to the statement, Major General Khademi made significant and exemplary contributions to the defense of the revolution, governance, and the Islamic homeland for nearly half a century, demonstrating integrity and courage in the fields of intelligence and security.
Tasnim News Agency described Khademi’s death as a “murder of the revolution,” reporting that Brigadier Khademi, a powerful and educated leader of the IRGC’s intelligence branch, was martyred in a U.S.-Israeli attack on Monday morning.
Iran has called Khademi’s death a significant loss, asserting that his legacy will continue to guide the country’s security policies. An official announcement regarding his funeral will be made soon.
Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed the death of the intelligence chief, detailing the military’s involvement. The Times of Israel published a statement from the defense minister, indicating that the information about the attack was shared during a review meeting with IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Ayal Zamir.
This confirmation marks a new series of high-profile deaths among Iran’s top officials. More than a month has passed since the conflict began on February 28. In the initial U.S.-Israeli airstrike, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei was killed, along with several commanders. Notable figures among the casualties include Ali Larijani, head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Navy Commander Alireza Tangsiri, and Brigadier General Jamshid Ishaqi, among others.
