Major Fire Erupts in Moving Bus in Maharashtra, Passengers Escape Unharmed

Mumbai, March 7: A significant accident was narrowly averted in Maharashtra’s Buldhana district on Saturday morning. A private bus traveling from Indore to Akola suddenly caught fire. The incident occurred near Nandura on National Highway 56. Approximately 30 passengers were onboard, and they were safely evacuated in time, preventing a major disaster.

According to reports, the private bus was en route to Akola when smoke began to billow from the rear of the vehicle as it approached Nandura. Within moments, flames engulfed the bus. Upon realizing the situation, the driver and conductor acted swiftly, pulling the bus over to the roadside and evacuating all passengers immediately. The fire quickly spread, consuming a large portion of the bus.

Firefighters from the Nandura Municipal Council arrived at the scene and worked diligently to extinguish the blaze. Volunteers from the Sai Foundation, along with ambulance services and personnel from the Nandura police station, also rushed to assist in the relief efforts. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, although the bus suffered extensive damage. Initial investigations by the fire department suggest that a short circuit may have caused the fire, but the exact cause is still under investigation by the Nandura police.

This incident follows a similar event on February 27 in Jaipur, Rajasthan, where a moving bus belonging to the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) caught fire near the Mansarovar RIICO intersection. Around 60 passengers managed to exit the bus safely, and there were no casualties, although the bus was completely destroyed within half an hour. The bus was traveling from the Sindhi Camp bus stand in Jaipur to Kekri.
