Major Event for Chinas National Disaster Prevention Day Held in Nanchang

Beijing, May 15: Recently, the main event for China’s National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day, along with the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Promotion Week, was jointly organized by the National Disaster Prevention, Mitigation, and Relief Committee, the Ministry of Emergency Management, the China Media Group, and the local government of Jiangxi Province. This significant event took place in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province.

Jiang Chengzhong, Vice Chairman of the National Disaster Prevention, Mitigation, and Relief Committee and Minister of Emergency Management, participated in the event and delivered a speech. He emphasized the importance of thoroughly studying, promoting, and implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s significant speeches on disaster prevention, mitigation, and relief. He urged the need to prioritize people’s safety and well-being as fundamental values.

Yu Junshen, Deputy Director-General of the China Media Group, also spoke at the event. He highlighted that CMG consistently adheres to the principle of putting people and their lives first. The organization has provided timely and comprehensive coverage of the CPC and Chinese government’s disaster prevention, mitigation, and relief measures. Additionally, it integrates news reporting on emergencies and public awareness of emergency science into its daily communication programs.
