Major Drug Supplier Arrested in Maharashtras Concert Drug Case

Mumbai, April 18: In a significant development, the main accused in the Goregaon Nesco concert drug case has been arrested in Poladpur, Raigad, Maharashtra. The suspect is alleged to have distributed ‘Ecstasy’ at a concert in Mumbai, which resulted in the deaths of two young men. He was apprehended while attempting to flee to Goa and has been handed over to the Vashai police for further investigation.

The arrested individual, identified as Ayush Vicky from Ulhasnagar, is a known drug supplier. Reports indicate that he was responsible for supplying drugs at the concert.

The Vashai police received intelligence that the suspect was fleeing along the Mumbai-Goa Highway. Acting on this information, they alerted the Raigad police. Subsequently, a team from the Poladpur police station, in collaboration with the local crime branch, set up a blockade and captured him around 10:30 PM.

Raigad police have taken Ayush Vicky (24) into custody and transferred him to the Vashai police. He was reportedly trying to escape to Goa in a car with two friends. Authorities stated that he distributed ‘Ecstasy’ at the music concert.

In a related incident, the Kupwara police in Jammu and Kashmir continued their anti-drug campaign by setting up a regular checkpoint in Jaggerpora on Saturday. During the inspection, a man was arrested with a significant quantity of a narcotic substance.

The suspect has been identified as Tahir Rashid Ganai from Hotarpora. Upon searching him, police recovered a large amount of what appeared to be cannabis. A case has been registered under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act at the Kupwara police station, and further investigations are underway.

Previously, the Jammu and Kashmir police had conducted a major crackdown on drugs in Rajouri district, where five individuals were arrested with heroin during a routine check.
