Mumbai, March 27: The Mumbai Crime Branch’s Unit 7 has executed a significant operation against the drug trade in the city, leading to the arrest of two drug suppliers in the Park Site area of Vikroli. Authorities seized over 2 kilograms of hashish from the suspects, valued at approximately ₹2.03 crores in the international market. The arrested individuals have been identified as Kishore Shedge and Rajesh Gawde.
A Crime Branch official stated that this operation is part of a larger network investigation. Interrogations of the suspects are underway to connect the dots and identify additional accomplices. Mobile phones belonging to the accused have also been confiscated, which may help trace other members of the network.
The Crime Branch received intelligence indicating that certain individuals were actively involved in the supply and sale of hashish in Mumbai. Reports suggested that the suspects were hiding a substantial quantity of hashish in a room in Vikroli West, preparing to sell it in the market. Given the seriousness of the information, a senior police inspector promptly assembled a team to plan the operation.
The police team proceeded to Vikroli and arrived at the specified address in the Park Site area. Upon opening the door, officers observed two individuals preparing to leave with plastic bags. During the search, the police recovered the hashish from the suspects.
In initial questioning, Kishore Shedge revealed that the seized hashish was supplied to him by Pranay More through Om Kamte. Investigations also revealed that Shedge had rented the room just five days prior, without any written agreement. According to police, the suspects were using this temporary location to hide and supply drugs.
The police are now conducting an in-depth investigation to uncover the entire network involved in this drug operation.
