On the evening of March 17, two unidentified individuals arrived on a motorcycle and fired two shots into the air in the parking area near the Botany department. They then fled towards the temple area within the campus via Ankur School Road.
The assailants abandoned their motorcycle at the scene, crossed the temple area on foot, and exited the campus. CCTV footage captured them stealing another motorcycle at gunpoint before fleeing towards the Punjab border.
Chandigarh’s Senior Superintendent of Police, Kanwardeep Kaur, stated that two empty cartridges were recovered from the scene. Preliminary investigations indicate that the shots were fired to intimidate Jashanpreet Singh Jwanda.
