Mumbai, March 4: Amid ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, India is actively working to evacuate its citizens from war-torn regions. In this context, several residents of Maharashtra have been successfully brought back home. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their support.
In a post on the social media platform X, Deputy Chief Minister Shinde stated, “Shiv Sena has successfully facilitated the return of many Maharashtra citizens stranded in Dubai. Passengers who departed from Fujairah Airport arrived safely in Mumbai tonight. This ‘homecoming’ was made possible due to the guidance and assistance of our popular and successful Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.”
He further added, “It brings immense satisfaction and joy to have successfully relieved the distress of Maharashtra citizens caught in a crisis, as well as their worried families.”
Eknath Shinde played an active role in the evacuation efforts, arranging two special flights to bring back approximately 164 tourists and students from Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated on Tuesday that, in light of the ongoing conflict, the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate in Dubai are in continuous contact with Maharashtra residents and Indian citizens in those regions.
He mentioned, “According to conversations with Indian citizens, the embassy has assured that the central government and the Ministry of External Affairs are closely monitoring the situation. Indian citizens should not panic; the central government will provide all possible assistance. Those from Maharashtra stranded there should check updates on the official X accounts of the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate in Dubai.”
The Chief Minister’s office also informed that CM Devendra Fadnavis is in touch with the ‘Indian Peoples Forum’ in Dubai. The government has issued a WhatsApp number to assist Maharashtra citizens.
