Maharashtra Allocates ₹25,000 Crore for Tribal Development, Says CM Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai, October 1 (Daily Kiran) : Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, announced on Thursday that the state government has earmarked ₹25,000 crore for tribal development through the Parliamentary Cluster Development Project. Speaking at the project’s inauguration ceremony, he emphasized the importance of implementing prepared action plans to drive this initiative forward.

Fadnavis stated that the project aims to foster social change in tribal areas by creating job opportunities, curbing migration, and enhancing the quality of life for residents. The primary goals include developing tribal regions, improving living standards, generating employment, and preventing outmigration.

He highlighted the necessity of integrating central and state government schemes for tribal areas. Instead of focusing on individual villages, the approach should be to develop groups of villages, or clusters, in a unified manner.

The initiative will introduce programs designed to bring about tangible improvements in people’s lives. Fadnavis noted that this concept was introduced five to six years ago and is now being put into action.

He pointed out that positive results have already emerged in Nandurbar district, where the agricultural sector has benefited significantly, leading to an improved standard of living for the local population.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that the central government has launched two schemes specifically for tribal areas, which are accelerating development in these regions. He stressed that effective implementation of education, health, and employment-related programs is crucial for achieving desired outcomes.

Fadnavis underscored the importance of ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach the intended beneficiaries. Continuous and effective monitoring of these programs is essential for their successful implementation.

The event was attended by Tribal Development Minister Ashok Uike, former Union Minister Bharati Pawar, MLAs Ravindra Chavan and Yogesh Sagar, implementation agency head Gajanan Dange, and Parliamentary Cluster Project Coordinator V. Satish, among others.
