India As batting falters against New Zealand A, raising concerns ahead of the upcoming Test series.

Lincoln, October 24 (Daily Kiran) : The Indian A team faced significant challenges in their unofficial Test against New Zealand A at Burt Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln. Following a series of five T20 and five ODIs, the Indian squad is set to play two Test matches against New Zealand. Many players from the Test team are participating in this unofficial match, which began on Saturday.
New Zealand won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Indian batting lineup struggled to make an impact. Opening batsmen Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul took to the crease, but Rahul was dismissed for a duck on just the eighth ball he faced. Jaiswal managed to score only 17 runs before being out. Other key players, including Sai Sudharsan, captain Dhruv Jurel, and Washington Sundar, also fell short, scoring 0, 1, and 0 runs, respectively. Their disappointing performance raises concerns for India ahead of the senior Test series against New Zealand.
India’s innings was somewhat salvaged by Devdutt Padikkal, who scored 32 runs, and Yash Rathod, who contributed an unbeaten 44 runs. Anshul Kamboj added 10 runs, but six Indian batsmen failed to reach double digits. Without Padikkal and Rathod’s efforts, the team might have struggled to surpass 60 or 70 runs.
On the bowling side, New Zealand’s Simon Keen shone with five wickets, while Jack Gibson took three. Fraser Sheat and Christian Clarke each claimed one wicket.
As of the latest updates, New Zealand A has reached 47 runs without losing a wicket in their first innings, after 14.1 overs.
