Haryana Gangster Himanshu Bhau and Accomplice Detained in U.S. Custody

Notorious Haryana gangster Himanshu Bhau and his associate are in U.S. custody as India seeks their extradition.

Henderson, October 24 (Daily Kiran) : A notorious gangster from Haryana, Himanshu Bhau, along with his accomplice, is currently in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This development has been confirmed by authorities.

According to a review of the U.S. government’s online detainee locator on Friday night, two individuals of Indian origin, Himanshu Sigroha and Neeraj Kaushik, were found detained at the Henderson Detention Center, located at 18 East Basic Road in Henderson, Nevada, just outside Las Vegas. Their cases are being managed by the Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) office of ICE in Las Vegas.

Officials have identified these individuals as Bhau and his associate, Neeraj Faridpuria. The ICE listing indicates that their detention is immigration-related, and no criminal charges have been filed against either individual in the U.S. Moreover, neither ICE nor the FBI has issued a public statement regarding their arrest.

Bhau, whose real name is Himanshu Retolia, hails from Rohtak in Haryana. He has been wanted since August 2023, when Interpol issued a red notice against him. He faces charges in India related to 18 criminal cases, including murder, attempted murder, extortion, threats, and fraud.

Bhau was tracked down and arrested in Las Vegas on Thursday, October 22. The Indian government is reportedly working to expedite his extradition process, and a team of officials may travel to the U.S. soon.

Faridpuria was apprehended after having his ankle monitor removed. He had been detained earlier this year but was released on bail.

Bhau’s gang has been linked to several high-profile crimes in North India. Notably, they claimed responsibility for a shooting outside the home of YouTuber Elvish Yadav in Gurugram in August 2025.

Indian investigative agencies are closely monitoring the situation, as they seek to repatriate wanted gangsters by utilizing the U.S. immigration process rather than formal extradition, which can be lengthy. The extradition process under the 1997 India-U.S. extradition treaty often involves protracted court proceedings, while removal through the immigration system has proven to be quicker.

A recent example is Anmol Bishnoi, who was detained in the U.S. in 2024 and deported to India on November 19, 2025. Upon arrival in New Delhi, he was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Whether Bhau and Faridpuria will follow a similar path depends on the outcomes of their immigration cases, which may include their claims for asylum or other relief before a U.S. immigration judge.

The Henderson Detention Center is a facility operated by the city under an agreement with the federal agency to house ICE detainees.
