NDA Confident of Victory in Bihar MLC Elections Amidst Political Tensions
Bihars NDA leaders express confidence in winning MLC elections, while addressing concerns over an upcoming rally in Delhi.

Patna, October 24 (Daily Kiran) : Political tensions are rising in Bihar as the state prepares for the Legislative Council (MLC) elections. Scheduled for November 1, a rally by the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDI) at Delhi’s Ram Leela Maidan has also sparked discussions among local leaders. Sanjay Sarawagi, the president of the Bihar BJP, expressed strong confidence in the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) success in the elections. He stated that the coalition is optimistic about winning all eight seats, having already secured three, which could rise to four when including independent candidates.
Sarawagi emphasized the importance of teacher and graduate voters in this election, asserting that the NDA has worked diligently to address their concerns. Meanwhile, Rajiv Ranjan, the national spokesperson for the Janata Dal (United), echoed this sentiment, affirming the NDA’s strong performance across all constituencies and the support from voters.
Ranjan credited the past two decades of work by the JD(U) president and former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity and the efficient governance under the leadership of Samrat Chaudhary, as factors contributing to a positive electoral atmosphere.
The upcoming INDI rally has also drawn reactions from Bihar’s political figures. Sarawagi supported a letter sent by the Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) to Rahul Gandhi, calling for the rally’s postponement. He highlighted the potential economic impact, noting that traders, who rely on the festive season to recover losses, could face significant setbacks due to the rally.
Shyam Rajak, the national general secretary of JD(U), stressed the right of all political parties and citizens to protest, but insisted that such activities must adhere to legal guidelines and not disrupt public life. He pointed out that November is crucial for traders, and the CTI has requested a delay to prevent any business disruptions, as people tend to avoid areas where protests occur.
Rajak also criticized RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, suggesting that he lacks seriousness as a leader and is rarely seen engaging with the public on pressing issues.
